Our Story
Southshore Resort has been welcoming guests to the natural wonder of Reelfoot Lake for generations. Nestled along the western shore of Tennessee's only major natural lake, we've built a place where anglers, hunters, birders, and families can slow down and connect with one of the most unique ecosystems in the country.
Reelfoot Lake was formed by the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811–1812, and its cypress-studded waters have been drawing visitors ever since. We take pride in being stewards of this special place — offering guided fishing trips, comfortable accommodations, and a full-service restaurant so every guest can make the most of their time on the lake.
Whether you're chasing crappie at dawn, watching bald eagles soar over the cypress trees, or simply unwinding on the dock with a cold drink, Southshore Resort is your home base for it all.
